What weaning food is right for my baby, and when do I start?

During first six months of full-term birth infants, breast milk is sufficient with all the needed nutrients for normal growth and development.

Introducing your baby to solid foods, also known as weaning on to foods, is recommended to start when your baby is around six months old. Consult with your pediatrician to find out more. Introducing weaning food later does not provide any better protection against allergies.

Modern science does not place any restrictions on the selection of weaning foods as far as allergy prevention is concerned. However, for children who have certain allergic risks - it is recommended to introduce weaning food on a step-by-step basis. HiPP products carrying our "green A" (selected from few ingredients) are particularly suitable. We only use ingredients with a low individual natural allergy risk.
